April 7, 2021 – A birth injury case against a hospital and OBGYN. The hospital nurses violated their own hospital policy in administering Pitocin to promote labour despite clear contraindications. When the child was born, he suffered from severe hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (brain damage as a result of lack of oxygen.)
February 2, 2023 – Recovery on behalf of a child against a hospital in a medical malpractice action. While her mother was in labor, there were concerning category II strips showing a sinusoidal “sharktooth” like pattern on the Fetal Heart Monitor. While subtle, this was concerning for a fetal-maternal haemorrhage, which required an earlier delivery to avoid injury to the child. When finally born, the child suffered from a hypoxic brain injury.
April 15, 2024 – A 74 year old woman was paralyzed from the waist down due to failure to timely diagnose and treat a spinal hematoma. The case was against a hospital and several medical providers.
June 6, 2019 – Settlement in connection with a motorcycle accident. The client sustained fractured ribs, spine injury, fractured ankle and splenic laceration.
December 5, 2017 – A baby was brain damaged at a hospital after a NICU nurse failed to recognize and treat the symptoms of a bacterial infection.
November 7, 2022 – Against a teaching hospital and several neurosurgeons, Ikuta Hemesath LLP recovered $2.5 million on behalf of a patient when the 4-level laminoplasty was botched, resulting in significant blood loss and future hemiparesis.
May 25, 2022 – Rear end motor vehicle accident involving injury to the client’s neck, back, shoulder and knee.
December 13, 2017 – A case involving a slip-and-fall case against an urgent care center where the patient was not watched despite being severely hypokalemic and hyponatremic. She hit her head when she fell, resulting in a subdural hematoma and intraparenchymal hemorrhage.
October 21, 2020 – Settlement with a fertility clinic that injected the wrong sperm in relation to an IVF procedure called Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection. Fourteen years later, in late 2018, after conducting a genetic testing history through a popular service, the parents learned that the child was not related to the father in any way.
October 5, 2020 – Settlement in relation to a pediatric emergency room physician and the hospital she worked at when an infant’s late-onset group B streptococcal infection was not timely diagnosed, resulting in catastrophic brain damage.
